Join the upcoming community keynote events for Blue Zones Ignite Rio Grande Valley.
Methodist Healthcare Ministries and Blue Zones have launched a new well‑being initiative in the Rio Grande Valley. As part of the Readiness Assessment phase, Blue Zones experts are working with local leaders to evaluate community health, identify priorities, and develop a plan for long‑term transformation. Four free Blue Zones Ignite Community Keynote Events will take place Feb. 26–27 across Mission, McAllen, Pharr, and Edinburg to engage residents and share the vision for improving health and quality of life in the region.
A Message from Moises Arjona, CEO, Unidos Contra La Diabetes
At Unidos Contra la Diabetes, our mission has always been clear: to work alongside our partners and our communities to create a healthier Rio Grande Valley. That is why we are proud to support the Blue Zones Project and the transformative work it brings to our region.
The Blue Zones approach aligns deeply with our values. It centers community, prioritizes well‑being, and creates environments where the healthy choice becomes the easy choice. This is the kind of systems‑level change the Rio Grande Valley deserves. By focusing on long‑term health, stronger neighborhoods, and sustainable improvements, the Blue Zones Project strengthens the foundation we’ve been building together for years.
We believe that when organizations unite around a shared vision, real change becomes possible. Unidos Contra la Diabetes is committed to collaborating with Blue Zones, Methodist Healthcare Ministries, and all partners working to improve health outcomes across the RGV. Together, we can create a future where every family has the opportunity to live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.
This is an exciting moment for our region and we are honored to be part of it.
