HARLINGEN, RGV – Harlingen high school students are so concerned about the high rates of diabetes and obesity in the Rio Grande Valley they have launched a community health awareness campaign.
After 15 long years, Proyecto Juan Diego celebrated a significant milestone Thursday morning in a dusty lot in Cameron Park.
A long-awaited, two- story community center designed with the goal of serving Cameron Park and Brownsville will become a reality in nine to 12 months in one of the city’s poorest areas to bring social services to the doorsteps of those in need.
SAN BENITO — A popular San Benito workout spot is making a comeback. And it won’t cost a dime to use. Starting Monday, the Greyhound stadium track will be open to the public not only in the morning, but also in the evening from 4 to 9 p.m.
Three years ago, evening hour usage by residents was suspended by San Benito CISD because of an increase in incidents of vandalism, damages to the premises and misuse of the facilities.
